The Nokia Lumia 900, a Widows phone is giving a tough competition for the other iOS and Android phones. Lumia 900 finds more attractive in its look and great scratch resistant display. The comparison between this and various other phones has been already started. Today we will look through the difference between the features of Nokia Lumia 900 and Samsung Galaxy Nexus (Also known as Samsung Google Nexus 3, Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus I9250, Samsung Galaxy X in Brazil)

Operating system:

Lumia 900 Smartphone runs on Windows Phone 7.​5 mango operating system, whereas Samsung I9250 runs on Android operating system (Ice Cream Sandwich). Compared to WP, Android has bucket full of applications and WP app market is still developing, but you will get all those important apps there. UI of both OS are completely different and some people like it and some people find it annoying.

Design:

Dimension of Windows Phone is 5.03 x 2.70 x 0.45 (127.8 x 68.5 x 11.5 mm) and it weighs 160g, whereas Nexus I9250 has dimension of 5.33 x 2.67 x 0.35 (135.5 x 67.94 x 8.94 mm) and it weighs 135g. And the Android Phone has the side keys for Volume control and lock/unlock key. Windows Phone has in addition of camera shutter key along with volume control and lock/unlock key.

Display:

Nokia Smartphone has a sleek and fantastic display with ClearBlack glass touch-screen AMOLED display and one-piece polycarbonate body, whereas Google Nexus I9250 has a new look and feel with Super AMOLED display because of the Android operating system. The display has the best feature of checking the data storage to avoid excess charges. It also has the capacity to protect against scratches and damages.

Processor:

Nokia Smartphone packs a 1.4GHz Scorpion Qualcomm APQ8055 Snapdragon processor, whereas Google Nexus I9250 is powered by a 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9 CPU and TI OMAP 4460 chipset and PowerVR SGX540 GPU.

RAM:

Nokia Windows Phone giant has 512 MB of RAM but the Google Galaxy Nexus has 1GB of RAM. Here Windows Phone lose ground to Android Giant!

Camera:

Nokia handset has an autofocus, 1.3-megapixel front facing camera helpful in video chatting and rear facing camera capable of image stabilization, geo tagging and video recording with dual LED flash capacity. The Android Phone has a five megapixel rear-shooter capable of autofocus, LED flash, touch focus and face detection. It features a 1.3-megapixel secondary camera for video chat.

Battery:

Nokia Lumia 900 has a Li-Ion battery with 1830 mAh capacity providing talk time capability up to 7.00 hours and stand by time up to 350.00 hours. The Galaxy Nexus has a Li-Ion battery with 1750mAh capacity providing talk time up to 17.66 hours and standby time of around 290.00 hours.

Storage:

The Nokia Lumia 900 has 16GB of internal storage and it does not support microSD card slot. The Galaxy Nexus also has 16GB of onboard storage.

Connectivity:

Nokia’s Lumia 900 features Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and EDR, whereas Galaxy Nexus includes Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with Wi-Fi hotspot and Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP. Both the phones support USB connectors and headphone connectors.

Audio and video players:

Nokia Windows Phone handset has a good music player and it supports video formats of MPEG4, H.264, WMV, 3GP, 3G2. Google Galaxy Nexus supports the video formats of MPEG4, H.263, and H.264. But it lacks a FM radio unlike the Lumia 900. Earpiece and Loudspeaker helps in good sound audibility.

Applications:

Both the phones support the best applications. Nokia Lumia 900 allows the instant messaging through Windows Live / MSN, whereas Galaxy Nexus supports instant messaging through Google Talk. Galaxy Nexus has the more games applications than the Lumia 900.

Galaxy Nexus – $149.99 on contract with Verizon Wireless. Unlocked version is available for buy at $451.

Nokia Lumia 900 – $99.99 on contract with selling carriers and the unlocked version of Nokia Lumia is available for $445 on amazon.

Conclusion:

If we compare the look of the two phones Nokia Lumia 900 looks far better than the Galaxy Nexus. But the Ice Cream Sandwich is improving the look of Galaxy Nexus a bit. Even though the Lumia 900 is the best Smartphone ever made by Nokia, we cannot judge it as perfect because it lags behind Galaxy Nexus in some of the features. But we can’t leave the hope of better Windows Phone as the developmental work is in progress. What is your favourite choice out of these gadgets? Well don’t bring iPhone here!
